Biografia
A Still Living foi criada no início de 2004, na cidade de Garanhuns (PE). Foram convidados pelo guitarrista Eduardo Holanda para compor a formação inicial: o baixista Renato Santos, o baterista Clécio de Souza e, pouco depois, o vocalista Esdras Freitas. Os primeiros anos da banda, entre 2004 e 2010, foram marcados por várias mudanças no line-up.
Dessa fase, foram lançadas as demos “Still Living” (2005) e “Believe” (2007). O line-up que gravou “Believe” contava, além de Eduardo Holanda (guitarra), com Marcelo Almeida (baixo), Clécio de Souza (bateria/teclados) e Pedro Gilberto (vocais), que substituiu Esdras Freitas.
Após algumas reformulações, a segunda fase da banda se consolidou com o lançamento do primeiro single, “Stream of Life”, em 2012, já com o novo vocalista Renato Costa, que assumiu o posto em 2011. A formação contava ainda com Leandro Andrade (baixo, efetivado em 2009), Clécio de Souza (bateria), Thiago Nascimento (teclados, também efetivado em 2009) e Eduardo Holanda (guitarra). O single precedeu o primeiro álbum, “From Now On” (2012), gravado por essa formação e lançado no Brasil de forma independente.
Com uma única alteração no line-up — a entrada de Cléber Melo (bateria) em 2014 —, a banda compôs e gravou seu segundo full-length, “Humanity” (2015), também lançado de forma independente no Brasil, mas com distribuição no Japão. Esse fato contribuiu para o relançamento de “From Now On +1”, com a faixa bônus “Storms” (2016), além do EP digital “Still Living: The History of Singles (2012–2015)”.
Em 2017, foi lançado na Europa o terceiro álbum da banda, “YmmiJ”, pelo selo holandês Rock Company. No Brasil, o lançamento ocorreu em 2018, de forma independente, com distribuição exclusiva da Anderstein Music no Japão. “YmmiJ” é o primeiro álbum conceitual da Still Living. Com exceção da saída do baixista Leandro Andrade, o line-up permaneceu o mesmo. O baixo, os pianos e alguns teclados adicionais foram gravados pelo co-produtor do álbum, Aldecy Souza. Após o lançamento e alguns shows de divulgação, Thiago Nascimento deixou a banda. Todos os álbuns tiveram distribuição no Japão, Europa e Estados Unidos.
No início de 2019, a Still Living lançou o EP digital “Taking a Few Days Off!”, com algumas músicas que não entraram nos últimos dois álbuns e uma remixagem de uma canção de YmmiJ.
Em 2020, a banda, então efetivada como um trio, gravou uma releitura de “Angel”, da banda Tchandala, para o Celebration Online Festival (realizado em 19/12/2020), ao lado do músico Aldecy Souza. No final do mesmo ano, Leandro Andrade (baixo) retornou à banda.
Em fevereiro de 2021, foi lançada nas principais plataformas digitais a coletânea “Celebration (Tchandala Tribute)”, contendo a releitura de “Angel”, juntamente com as demais bandas e convidados participantes do Celebration Online Festival.
Em 2022, a Still Living completou 18 anos de existência e lançou o single comemorativo “The Fall”.
Em 2023, a banda retornou aos palcos, agora com Aldecy Souza (teclados), e iniciou a gravação de novas faixas para um provável novo álbum. Em 30 de outubro de 2023, Cléber Melo deixou a Still Living.
Em 2024, faleceu aos 49 anos Pedro Gilberto, ex-vocalista da Still Living (25 de março).
Em 2025, a Still Living continua o processo de produção e gravação de seu próximo álbum, que ainda não tem data de lançamento.

Biography
Still Living was formed in early 2004 in the city of Garanhuns, Pernambuco (Brazil). Guitarist Eduardo Holanda invited Renato Santos (bass), Clécio de Souza (drums), and later Esdras Freitas (vocals) to complete the original lineup. The band’s early years, between 2004 and 2010, were marked by several lineup changes.
During this first phase, the band released the demos “Still Living” (2005) and “Believe” (2007). The lineup that recorded “Believe” featured Eduardo Holanda (guitar), Marcelo Almeida (bass), Clécio de Souza (drums/keyboards), and Pedro Gilberto (vocals), who replaced Esdras Freitas.
After some reformulations, the second phase of the band took shape with the release of the first single, “Stream of Life”, in 2012, featuring the new vocalist Renato Costa, who had joined in 2011. The lineup also included Leandro Andrade (bass, joined permanently in 2009), Clécio de Souza (drums), Thiago Nascimento (keyboards, also joined in 2009), and Eduardo Holanda (guitar). The single preceded the debut album “From Now On” (2012), recorded by this formation and independently released in Brazil.
With only one lineup change — Cléber Melo (drums) replacing Clécio in 2014 — the band composed and recorded its second full-length album, “Humanity” (2015). It was also independently released in Brazil but distributed in Japan, which helped the band reissue “From Now On +1” with a bonus track (“Storms”) in 2016, as well as the digital EP “Still Living: The History of Singles (2012–2015)”.
In 2017, the band released its third album, “YmmiJ”, in Europe through the Dutch label Rock Company. The album reached Brazil in 2018, independently, and had exclusive distribution in Japan via Anderstein Music. “YmmiJ” marked Still Living’s first conceptual album. Except for the departure of bassist Leandro Andrade, the lineup remained the same. The bass, pianos, and additional keyboards were recorded by Aldecy Souza, who also co-produced the album. After the release and some promotional shows, Thiago Nascimento left the band. All albums were distributed in Japan, Europe, and the United States.
In early 2019, Still Living released the digital EP “Taking a Few Days Off!”, featuring songs that hadn’t made it to the previous two albums, plus a remixed track from YmmiJ.
In 2020, the band, then performing as a trio, recorded a cover of “Angel” (originally by Tchandala) for the Celebration Online Festival (held on December 19, 2020), featuring musician Aldecy Souza. Later that year, Leandro Andrade (bass) rejoined the band.
In February 2021, the compilation “Celebration (Tchandala Tribute)” was released on major streaming platforms, including Still Living’s rendition of “Angel”, alongside other artists and guests from the Celebration Online Festival.
In 2022, Still Living celebrated 18 years of existence by releasing the commemorative single “The Fall”.
In 2023, the band returned to the stage, now featuring Aldecy Souza (keyboards), and began recording new tracks for a potential new album. On October 30, 2023, Cléber Melo left the band.
In 2024, Pedro Gilberto, former vocalist of Still Living, passed away at the age of 49 (March 25, 2024).
In 2025, Still Living continues the production and recording process for their upcoming album, which has no release date yet.
